Become a Mentor through one of our unique programs.
Who is a Mentor?
Our Mentors are open-minded, understanding, and resourceful people who come from different backgrounds and have different life experiences to share.
Mentors are compassionate adults who possess:
- A desire to work with and be accessible to others
- Patience and a willingness to listen
- The ability to set limits and respond to supervision
- A willingness to travel
- Their own form of transportation
What does a Mentor do?
- Attend Mentor training
- Offer support and knowledge
- Attend once-a-week meetings
- Participate in special events
- Attend program graduation
WomenCare
WomenCare seeks a diverse group of caring women to act as Mentors to local women while they gain independence and self-sufficiency.
Become a WomenCare Mentor
Young Parents Support Network (YPSN)
YPSN is seeking compassionate female and male volunteers to act as Mentors to pregnant or parenting teens aged 12-20 for one year.
Become a YPSN Mentor
All volunteers or prospective Mentors are interviewed and screened prior to being matched with a Partner. YPSN Mentors are subject to criminal record and child abuse checks to ensure the safety of our teen participants.
Mentor Training
Free training and support are also provided both initially and throughout the course of a mentoring relationship. Online training is possible for Mentors. Our next scheduled training will be Thursday April 26th 2012 from 6pm to 9pm. Please call 610-565-6171 and ask to speak to one of the program managers for more information or to RSVP.
